My daughter took her car to a Sears auto center for a oil change. They drained the oil and put in 4 quarts of oil with new filter. The problem is that it is a small car with a small motor that only takes 3.5 quarts. The check engine light came on, hooked it up to a scanner, said O2 sensor bad. The reason O2 sensor bad was because overfilled crankcase. Called Sears Manager said that he had never heard about that and that over filling the crankcase by a half a quart wouldn't hurt. Would not pay for a new O2 sensor but wanted to keep her business so said the next time my daughter needed her oil changed it would be free. I told my daughter that there are other places that change oil or bring the car home to change oil. Finally, I told her to check the oil level before leaving if the car is serviced.
