I know this is off topic, but there s alot of handy knowledge floating around on here.
We are gonna get fired up on building a new house. This is the first and hopefully last time we will have to build.
For siding we are looking at mainly steel or seamless steel. We want something that is maintanance free.
From what I ve heard, the extreme weather change can do bad things to vinyl siding in MN.
Is the seamless siding worth the extra money? Are there any brands seamless or not that a guy should try and get or stay away from?
When I talk to the lumber yard, they say seamless siding is a waste. I ve talked to two places that do seamless and they say it s the best, most maintainance free stuff out there.
A couple of contractors I ve talked to like steel, but aren t that crazy about seamless.
I have no problem spending the extra on seamless, if it s worth it. I realize both the lumber yard and the local contractors probably aren t that crazy about it because they don t sell it or work with it.
Let me know what your experience is. I m kinda flying blind here, and talking to the guys that sell each kind is like asking a seed dealer what the best brand of seed is..
