Gun Guru, you should turn yourself over to the grammar police. You may want to back off on your criticism of uneducated people. It is true that lost 400,000+ in WW2, but we didn't win it by ourselfs, we had help. I am sure you hate commies, but you should know that no one has killed more commies than NAZI Germany. The Soviet Commies killed more NAZIs than everyone else but together. Our allies, the Soviets lost nearly 24,000,000 in that war. China lost 10 to 20 million. The UK lost more than we did. To say that the US freed the world from this facist peril is stretching it a bit. We were part of a team, a cooperating world community, a socialist effort so to speek. What else would call the Lend Lease Program, the draft, rationing, the GI Bill of Rights, emminent domain and taking farms for bases, converting tractor factories to make war machines (I discussed farms and tractors, I am on topic), ect. Not to mention we had a president that didn't care at all about the constitution. I am all for, as you put it "History need to be taught in the schools, properly too". I just hope that the teachers have a better grasp of the subject than you do.
