I would say there was one tractor that was equal to the Oliver in all the categories Scott listed: Cockshutt. Cockshutt exceeded Oliver when it came to being well built though. Compare an Oliver rear end to a Cockshutt rear end in equal size tractors, say a 77 and 40 or 88 and 50 or whatever. The Cockshutt rear end is at least double the size, front frame thicker and heavier. In my opinion no tractor was built better than a Cockshutt. I am a Deere fan myself, but when it came down to the best tractor I think that Cockshutt was at the top of the pole from the late 40's into the late 50's. Justin
