I've noticed several threads regarding favorite brands of tractors. Here's a story you guys should enjoy. My dad makes models 1/16 scale models of farm tractors and then travels to many of the toy collectors shows displaying and selling them. Before one show he was assembling some tractors when he happened to pick up the engine for a Farmall F12 and noticed it fit nicely into the frame of a JD 70. So, just for the fun of it, he put together the JD with the Farmall engine. It was a topic of conversation at the next show, with a number of people coming up to his booth to look at it. Towards the end of the show an elderly gentleman came up to the booth and said, "I understand you have a four cylinder John Deere here". "That's right my dad said, it's right there." The fellow took a look at it and then said, in a very disgusted voice, "I don't think it's funny!!! It's not funny at all!!" And with that he stomped off.
