Well the problem with what you say is that the government is supposed to regulate the stock market if it gets out of control. Its out of control now.The reason that you dont really notice it being out of control is the politicians slowly over time removed any checks and balances from it.Its simply the fox guarding the chicken house.Instead of congress having over sight of it,they let it police its self.I hate to say it but to a certain extent this was alright. Some Draconian things needed to changed. Its hard to get anything but drastic measures out of the government. So instead of leaving proper checks on it they let Enron type people run it.Say the price of gas is 2 dollars a gallon lets run it up to three and see what happens?Soon that wasnt enough, then 4.Nobody could put up with that.It was even starving people to death.I bet that there is an equal amount of money in offshore bank accounts that was peoples pensions.Thats treason. There should be a big penalty for that and everything since then.Politicians are guilty of letting them do what they wanted to do,which was treason because they were supposed to represent the people instead of the stock market.Probably wont satisfy everybody but thats kind of what happened. It was actually worse.
