I decided to use the original boss with the tapered hole made at the M-H factory. Thanks for the advice. Look at my idea to retrofit the old piece of broken cast iron. I'm building my own bracket. I don't like to spend money at a machine shop unless it is absolutely necessary. I'll be spending plenty when I fix the old continental flat head soon. Thanks again.
