It won't matter how many pedals they replace because it is most likely not a mechanical failure. If it was mechanical there would be more failures, more predictable, and it would get better with age if they are getting stuck. As mechanical objects wear, they tend to become more loose, not stuck. Also there is evidence of this problem occurring sooner than the 2005 model year, which is the first affected by the recall. Also, if Toyota is so great for calling off production and selling cars, why are they still selling and producing the more expensive Lexus product line that is just as likely to have a problem? Even if this problem started in 2005 this problem is 5 years old. That is unacceptable for any auto manufacturer. By the way I am selling the car for numerous other problems, such as the water pump just went out at 37,000 miles, it burns a little oil, the controls are horrible as I stated before, the brakes are too weak for the car, you can't see out of the back window or to your sides, the paint is the worst I've ever seen on a car (too thin, scratches off when you try to wash it) the rear window rattles to the point of giving you a headache in a 20 minute drive, the passenger side door leaks water into it, the headlights were way off alignment before she hit a deer, the hood had two paint defects where the paint was peeling (this car was bought brand new), the windows leak water into the car, I'm 6'4" and my head hits the headliner, and I can't think of anything else at the moment other than some really stupid suspension and oil filter designs.
