If you buy antique tractors with the intention of selling them at a profit at some later time, you're going to lose money more often than not. If I understand your statement about money (it appears to me that you are saying that the "love of money is true love") you are working from an entirely different point of view than 99% of the people who "love" old tractors. I'm in the same situation as most of the other folks who have replied. I spent $4300 rebuilding a tractor that would likely sell for $1500, maybe as much as $2000 if I found a real sucker. I did it because I get a great deal of pleasure out of repairing things, and seeing a piece of machinery that worked day in and day out for 60 years returned to near-new condition. It was good therapy for me, an outlet for a lot of stress. I also enjoy seeing a bit of my country's history and my own past preserved. And, truth be told, I just like playing with it. It's really a big, expensive toy. Love has been defined as putting someone else's welfare ahead of your own. In that strict definition, I don't "love" tractors. But the dang thing has made me smile a LOT more times than my first wife did...
