sorry to tell ya... I was stationed in UK from '77 - '83 ...Mr Carta dang near killed us at that time... pound sterling was up to $2.68 (if I could find 'em, I'm sure i've still got the receipts laying around somewhere) ... and I heard stories from some "old timers" that had retired and were living over there about the five dollar to one exchange rate. Ya might want to check yer facts! As far as a devalued dollar causing us into bankruptcy, I don't follow your logic... as someone has already mentioned, a strong dollar means everything we try to sell costs more... means they'll look elsewhere to invest. Now, I'm not saying we should run 'er aground, but salvaging the economy will require a delicate balancing act ...D (p.s. ...don't get all mad... it's just a discussion!)
