Have a question for anyone as to the real hazards of having a D size fashlight battery explode in the son"s/daughter in-law"s kitchen oven. It seems that the 1 1/2 year old grandson had thrown a battery in the oven -hiding toys or parts of toys. Just getting into the T-Twos. Anyway, the son made supper last night and didn"t notice the battery -it exploded in the oven. I"m not sure of the extent of the mess or what they were cooking, but now the daughter in-law is freaking out -worrying about all the toxins splattered in the oven and wants to buy a new stove. I told her to just give a real good cleaning and not to worry. She"s worried about any of the powder/dust thrown out of the battery getting on any future meals. They can"t really afford a new stove. How hazardous is this situation? What"s your opinions? Thanks
