That sounds about right. I feel most new vehicles should lose 20-25% of their sticker value the minute it leaves the lot. Too many people buy vehicles on too much credit and not enough cash. Ever notice how the dealer doesn"t want to deal on the price if all you"re willing to do is put the minimum down or 0 down? They say they"ll get you a great interest rate instead. Or how most lots don"t write the price in the window. They write "Only $256/month". Walk into a dealer with a stack of Benjamins or even your checkbook some time. Heck, just don"t use their financing. Go to your local credit union or personal banker. Its amazing how much can come off the price of a new vehicle.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
