I wish it could be as simple as boycotting the gas companies. There is an oil refinery just a few miles down the road from me. There are a lot of tank trucks go past my house 24hrs a day. Bear in mind too that most of these trucks are unmarked as to what brand of gasoline they are carrying. If we boycott one or two brands, it will make no never mind to the refineries, they will turn out just as much gasoline as before. If Texaco starts selling more gasoline than Mobil, because Mobil has been boycotted. The Mobil refinery will simply sell gasoline to Texaco. Refineries keep each others' gas stations supplied. The only way we will ever get the oil companies to really listen, is if we all drive a little less. For many people that will be impossible. For many of us, myself included, we just need to start to plan our day a little better. Stop making the trips a couple miles down the road to the convenience store for a loaf of bread. Then in the evening have to run back down there to get a jug of milk. That's how I feel about the situation, now I better get off the stage.
