I'm not going to call any one anything. Most of the information contained here is from people that are not knowledgeable about used import tractors. A grey market tractor is a tractor that was not sold new in a particular country. I know of a large name brand dealer in the US that leases tractors & then ship them used to Australia, beacause there are duties on new tractors , but not used. They are grey market tractors. The loader that was mentioned is a quicktach Canadian made loader with down pressure( made by the company that bought the NH Genisis & Versatle). There are some models manufactured by Mitsubishi & Kubota that have backwards PTo's. Most have standard 540 pto shafts & run at 540 rpm plus 2 or 3 other speeds. As to the parts situation. I recommend buying from a reputable dealer that will support what they sell.I import mainly Yanmars, because of the good parts availability. I'm an authorized Yanmar parts & service dealer. They sold new tractors in the US till about 10 years ago. They have a parts depot in Illinois. I'd say parts availability for them is as good as for US tractors of the same age. I have a 1983 165 hp Ford tractor that I can't get a new block for from Ford. I can get blocks for the Yanmars. I also handle Mitsubishi & Iseke parts. I have parts sources in the US & Japan for them. What I've found in this business is that the purchaser is usually a price shopper. They aren't willing to consider quality or service ,just price. I'll agree that there are unreputable dealers (many I wouldn't consider dealers, they're individuals that make a few bucks on a tractor, but have no intention of servicing or supplying parts),but I can think of a couple US used dealers that I wouldn't trust to far either. I've been selling these tractors for 4 years & buy the best ones I can get. About the only parts I''ve sold to my customers are filters & light bulbs. There is a group that is buying poor quality tractors in Japan, repainting , chroming the bolts , & putting new tires on them in Viet Nam & calling them reconditioned. I'd stay away from them.

When Push Comes to Shove - by Dave Patterson. When I was a “kid” (still am to a deree) about two I guess, my parents couldn’t find me one day. They were horrified (we lived by the railroad), my mother thought the worst: "He’s been run over by a train, he’s gone forever!" Where did they find me? Perched up on the seat of the tractor. I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
