Calcium Filled Tires

I have a question concerning calcium filled tires. My “new” working Massey Ferguson 35 has a soft right rear tire. The rim shows a fair bit of corrosion near the valve stem. When I went to add a little air the screw portion of the stem broke off (just above the “guts” of the valve) in my hand. The copper / brass was very corroded. There appears to be some type of larger diameter screwed fitting (same on the left side) just below the portion of the stem that has failed. I assume that the tires have calcium in them. Can I get an appropriate new fitting at my local tire dealer and support the rear of the tractor while making a fitting change? I have not had to dell with calcium before and I have not seen this type of fitting before but assume that it just screws in. Are there any special precautions I should be taking? Comments and suggestions welcomed. Glen, Ontario, Canada
