Every place I've ever worked you could get away with lying, you could get away with being a fool, you could get away with almost anything, even failing a drug test but if you got hit with insubordination you got fired, period. Everything else you would at least get a warning and a chance to clean up your act. Im not picking sides over if he was right or wrong. Im all for standing up and saying your piece too, thats why Im self employed. If you work for the man though, you've got to play by his rules. At the very least, he should have released his comments to the press openly and concluded them with offering his resignation rather than this off handed behind the back aids talking stuff.
