I'm sure there's just as many people who have had the best luck with other brands. A know a lot people that said the older JD's were hard on fuel compared to other makes. I know some guys that have a Ford 9600 and JD 4020. They claim the Ford is easier on fuel and it's roughly 40 more HP than the JD. The JD also had the engine rebuilt. I have an 65 UK MF 135 and don't think anything that JD offered in the same time period is even worthy of comparison. Just curious but did JD also pay you to put this post up?????? Dave

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
