I could be wrong but the way I see it we have a fairly high standard of living and expecting it to remain at that level all of the time is too mush to ask. At the same time the lack of a work ethic is a huge problem that will be righted when the standard of living drops to the level where it is work hard or starve. After Columbus discovered America Spain had similar problems, too much easy wealth (Inca gold, new crops, timber, similar things) then many had money and nobody wanted to work. Also they had to hire mercenaries for their army (sounds like Rome too) finally the demise of a once great civilization. It has happened throughout history I just hope it holds on a little longer here.
