Years ago when I worked road construction in college, things were a lot different than today. Didn't have to wear hard hats or orange vests, no porta potty on the site. If you had to go, you'd open the door (opposite side of traffic) of a construction vehicle that was parked in the zone and stand up near the hinges and do your thing. Well, you always made sure there were no other guys around because if there was, someone would invariably run up and jump in the truck and drive away, leaving you standing out in the open. I learned to remove the keys from the truck ignition when I had to go.
Can't tell you how many NEW guys on the crew got introduced to road construction in this manner. :lol: More than once, I saw women stuck in construction traffic trying to shield their children's eyes while the kids laughed and pointed.
