several reasons, ford tractors wern't very popular on row crop farms in the midwest, upon asking my grandad about them back in the 80's [ he was born in 1900] he told me the reason was they were too low slung, and due to that you couldn't make a 3rd pass with a cultivator in corn, which would have been their main use, look at a n series or naa, then look at a farmall c or h, and see the difference in ride height, out here in the west there very popular, i have one myself, but there not at the shows as were still using them out here, they make a good mowing tractor [ with a added orc] posthole digger, trailer puller, ect,and due to their relitively light weight they can be easily hauled all over creation on a car trailer behind a pickup, making them handy as can be

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
