JD Seller; You are 100% on track. My experience is that 1 out of 20 people that want to install a wind turbine have a good site. I have to determine their goals, (financial, verses green movement). The site that I am installing this 2.4 K unit with 2000W expansion capability is more of a green thing than financial. The customer and I have done wind data testing since June. They made the decision based on data that we collected with an onsite Davis Pro weather station. Their choice was based on "green" rather than financial goals. Once the PV system is on line I am confident that this customer will approach Net 0 for energy consumption. They had a home energy adudit and spent money to upgrade their homes insulation. And like me, they also suplement their heating with a high efficiency wood burning stove. The Key to alternative living and making any alternative energy system be financially effective is to start with energy conservation. If a person thinks that he is going to make money selling "power" back, He is saddly mistaken.Power Providers have been deregulated and you can buy the power from companies of your choice. My electricity costs me 4.7cents /KWH.from my hydro supplier, but, after all the delivery charges, taxes and other addons from my supplier and the states hidden taxes, it costs about 12.5 cents /KWH.You and I can reduce some of the extra charges, by conserving, but to totally eliminate them, one needs to disconnect from the grid and adopt a unique lifestyle mirroring our great grandparants. To each, his own.
