Nice pictures. I enjoy seeing how others are doing things. I still wonder if this "renewable energy" kick is just another big boon doggle. All of the info I can get to read shows that wind and solar cost per kilowatt is many times more expensive. It can only make it with heavy tax breaks. If a business can"t make it by customer demand and making a profit, then it is foolishness to subsidizes it.
There are two good size wind generators around Cascade, Ia. that where installed several years ago. They both are not running now. Both owners said that the up keep was more cost that what they produced. One is going to knock his down come spring as he is having to pay taxes on it as if it where running.
I have heard that solar panel cost is way down right now. They make more since to me than the wind mills. Even with the high winds here in Iowa there are too many days of dead calm or too high of wind that the generator are not working but we do have quite a few sunny days.
I will just keep buying electric for now as it is cheaper than the other options. They will not let me own a private nuclear plant so I can"t have my own energy supply. LOL
