I wasn't gonna reply to this, but after going to another part of the forum, I decided to come back. There is a phrase everyone likes to quote "The customer is always right". This means that no matter what the counter guy, or store owner thinks, knows, or wants to do, he really needs to do what the customer says, or it's said he won't be in business long, or needs to get out. OK, that always works, especially when YOU are the customer. Now, what if all these customers were on the other side of the counter, or door??? Most would NOT be in business with the public long. They show their greed by indicating it is there way, ONLY. This Country is still (for a little while longer) based on Free Enterprise. That means I own my business, and I make the rules. If I have a customer already that I am taking care of, you have NO RIGHT to tell ME how to run the business. Plain and simple. Now, I do own a business. My average job is $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 EACH. I have a specific clientel I work with. They know how I work, and that if they want my services, they will wait, until it is their turn, and I am ready for them. If not, go someplace else. Yeah, it will cost me a few bucks, but those who know me and the work, understand the process, and why. I will usually do 4-5 of these jobs a year. Does that make me an a##? Probably, but remember, right now, it's my business. It seems the cheaper stuff you work with, the more demands that are put on you.... I am also quite happy that if I do need something from NAPA, they can get it for me quickly, and I have no problem waiting my turn. If I need it faster, I will call ahead, they pull it, and have a ticket ready for me, but still I wait until I can get to the counter for it.
