I did almost the EXACT same thing this morning, but it turned out different. The starter on my Oliver 77 had been acting up for a week. I'd have to hit the button a few times to get it to do any more than roll about half a turn. I had to hit it twice in the toolshed this morning, but it started. I got it out in the silo and shut it off while I loaded the cart. I went to start it and it wouldn't roll for anything. I went in and took the starter off the 66,then stood out in the cold and changed it. It STILL wouldn't roll! I got the truck and jumper cables. It whirled right over but didn't start. I let off, pushed the choke in and tried it again. WOULDN'T ROLL! Kept fooling with the cables til it finally spun like crazy and started. Miserable thing! It's sitting in front of the shop with the charger on it now. Either a weak or bad battery I guess.
