What is the better season for farm auctions here in the East and New England? We moved to the south east side of New York near Kingston last year, and would like to start going to auctions within a few hours drive in any direction. I'm interested in antique tractor things, and wife collects pottery and garden stuff. We're from Arkansas, and most outdoor auctions were generally in the winter because the weather would permit it.....usually. Summer was just too hot in the South to stand out in hot sun for auctions. Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
