Too bad you settled so close to NYC. Your 2 hr. range is still within the idiot range. The city folk drive out to the "country" where you live and pay mega bucks for an old looking thing of some sort to hang on their wall thinking that it is some "rare peice of history" In your area these peices have been sold over and over again in antique stores and auctions. If you travel north and west of Albany you might find a prize, but it won't be listed on the auction bill, it will be tucked in the bottom of a box and sold at the beginning of an auction when the auctioneer is priming the crowd and the buyers are picking up the auctioneers lingo. As for best timing to attend an auction in the NE, most are held in early spring and late fall when auctioneers can attract larger crowds of farmers who arn't working the land for planting or harvesting crops. Probably not a good time for you to get a "deal" though. Good Luck, I can't imagin why you moved to NY from Ark. and settled down state.
