But not as bad as my phone company repairman!
Have been having intermittant problems with my phone for several weeks, Noisy, dropped calls, not ringing properly, no one there when answered, no dial tone, the works.
Had a repair call in a couple weeks back, but apparently didn't find anything wrong when they finally got on to it, over the weekend...
Went again yesterday. Technician was here about 8:30am today. Told him the symptoms, and I suspected a bad connection in one of the many pedestals between here and the pffice, 4 miles away. Well, he frogged around with it until about 2:30pm..... Found that mice had gotten into one of the pedestals, and gnawed some of the wires. Tried two new pairs of wires before he got a good new pair that conducted a clean signal. I hate to be right all the time! Turns out that he ended up using a pair that was already connected to the house when we had two lines a few years back... He couldn't get at the wires to repair existing pair, as pedestal was below grade, and unaccessable, until thaw.
My new invention... mouse poison in a package like coffee creamer is issued in restaurants. Just put a package or two in each pedestal when they are serviced.

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
