This is the front end off my son Blake's 41 B we are restoring. We found that it had a large crack all the way across that was welded at sometime or another. The tube that the worm gear for the steering passes through still has a crack in it. Can this be welded or should this entire part be discarded? I found one at a salvage yard for $165 with the worm gear. Part 2. The worm gear has a chip in the first part of the gear and the end of it.The main part of it still looks in reasonable shape.Don't know what inpacted the front end of this tractor to do such damage?Oh well I own it know and want to know what you all would do about this.
