Tom, These codes were used from approx 1939 into the 50's. The codes that begin with "X" were used for Farmalls "W" for the W series tractors and "Y" for the industrial versions. There are several for the Farmall, some examples are X1-gasoline X1A-gasoline, low speed gears X3A-Kerosene, low speed gears The only one with a "J" in it is X1J-gasoline, seven mph high speed gears, 5,000 foot altitude.
