Hello Farmall Dudes, I just came in from working on my 54' Super C and went online to see if I could find a service manual but ended up finding this site instead. I wish I had found it sooner when I still had some hair left. I love this machine when it's running, unfortunatly it's a little tough getting it to that state. The starter cranks very slowly and runs the battery down quickly. I had it checked last summer and was told it was fine. They suggested that the battery cables might be to small so I installed 2/0 gauge cables and also replaced the battery at that time. I saw a little difference but nothing signifigant. Fortunatly since it was warm weather it didn't take much to get it started. This winter I've only had it started once and that was on a warmer day. Unlike Kens problem, disconnecting the ignition wires produces little or no effect. I replaced the battery yesterday, evidently I wore the old one out from all the discharging and charging the last few weeks. Could this starter be failing under load? Another question I have is what is the secondary resistance of the coil supposed to be? I'm getting a reading of 4130 ohms which seems pretty low to me. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rick

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
