The steering on one of my H's has become real stiff. It is difficult to drive. I took it apart yesterday and the steering shaft that comes through the gear on top where the oil reservoir is was binding on the cap. Also, the gear is a cut gear only about 1/2 circle. I have worked in this area before but never had one that appears to be riding up higher than it needs to be. I haven't had the shaft out of one before. Is there a bushing or bushings where it starts up into the bolster that could be worn out causing the shaft to be higher that normal? Any help would be appreciated as this looks like a heavy duty job. A schematic would be helpful. Ed
