My test light showed bright light coming from the switch, and it was dimmer on the other side of the resistor where it goes to the coil. I hit the switch and it wouldn't start, although it fired right off when I had bypassed the resistor before putting the new one on. I left the switch on and tested with the test light, same results as before, then I noticed a wisp of smoke coming from the backside of the new part. Is there an "in" and "out" post on these things that I may have reversed? It appeared to be right. Any help would be appreciated.
