Gas tank sealer

I know there have been a lot of posts in the past about gas tank sealers. Never paid a lot of attention. Now I have a problem and need to know which is best. I was cleaning up my C getting ready for paint. Degreaser, pressure washer, wire brush and so on. Seems my gas tank had been repaired on the outside with some kind of resin. I guess I disturbed that in the clean up process and now I have just a seep leak. Just enough to make the Touch Control unit look damp. Will putting tank sealer inside the tank take care of this???. I've not taken the tank off the tractor yet, but will do that soon. Thanks for any info.
