Bob M. Thanks for your help. The 7+ reading on the coil was between the ground on the battery and the plus + side of the coil with the engine shut off and the switch turned on. I will make no claim to say that I understand this. Years ago I replaced the original coil after I was told it was bad, and can't help but wonder - - -. Will see if coil heats up after running a while. The tractor runs OK right now, but fouls plugs and misses after it gets warm.
