Red Dave: What can I say ?? Jeez, I thought that those reads made no sense at all. Shows how little I know about what I am looking at ! I went back out and checked them again, then, without the jumper on, I pulled the coil wire out of the distributor cap, held it about 1/2 inch or less from a ground, and it had a puny, yellow spark that you could hardly hear. Then, per your instructions, I put the jumper in place between the switch and coil, tried the spark again, and that sucker was blue, arced easily at 1/2, on out to about 3/4 of an inch, and sounded really healthy !! It started up a lot easier when I left the jumper on and I can't explain how dumb I feel about the whole ordeal.
