Greetings: I am a new owner of a Farmall A and 9 acres of land. Where can I learn about the basics of preparing land for planting using the Farmall. For example, I want to replace the current weeds with meadow grass (e.g Timothy hay). The land was planted with corn for a number of years, but there are many rocks - 1" to 8". Do I start with a disk harrow to cut the weeds and surface roots? Can I expect to destroy the disks because of the rocks? For hay, do I need to plow the land deeper than the disk harrow will stir up? Anyway, I hope my lack of basic knowledge is evident. Where can I read about the basics of land preparation so I can get on the learning curve a little bit higher up? Thanks in advance for any and all leads. Douglas Stockman dstockman@pol.net Rochester, NY
