FC, A couple of things and some experiences I've had. Keep in mind I don't have any sophisticated testing equipment. If I suspect a distributor unit as my problem (points, coil, advance, etc.) I will pull a magneto off one of my other good running tractors; if that fixes the problem I at least know where the problem is. Carb; be sure that the gasket between the upper and lower portion of the carb is the right one and allows the bowl to vent, I've had this problem and the machine will starve or flood. Again, I have a lot of tractors, if all else fails, I'll swap a carb to see if that is where the problem is. I've had defective on/off switches that caused me grief. Good luck,
