Sure, I have one of the 1946 9Ns that I use regularly. It is a workhorse that I am fond of. This is a very confusing issue. It has not been made less confusing by the many books on the subject written by people who pretend to know. Many people are prepared to believe when the 2N was introduced in 1942 it made the further production of 9Ns impossible. That is definitely not the case. They only built that wartime special model for about 10 months and then went back to building the exact same tractor they built in 1941. Doesn't anyone pay attention? Certainly there was a 2N. It was a wartime model that had steel wheels and no electrical system (with magneto ignition) . It was introduced to eliminate the battery, starter, and tires to save the resources for the war effort. It wasn't built very long. Ford then went back to building the successful 9N. Amazing what people learn from an article in some book! Maybe your tractor with 2N on the trumpets was originally a 2N that was later updated. It may be too late for the correct signs. There are two points of view on this subject. I think mine is equally valid. George Willer
