As the brake "wheels" get worn down over the years (and from turning them to smooth their surfaces) there will be an increasing demand for shortened brake linings. My H required the entire adjustment to get decent brake response when I installed new linings. Has anybody a source for shortened bands or a trick to get good contact between new linings and turned (worn) wheels?
