Going by your post the tops of the piston do not go over the block deck. Do you mean the flat area of the piston top or that there is no stepup on the piston.If you have flat tops they are about as low as you can go for compression!!! If you want compression go for the Fire Crater or my favorite M&W.The M&W have the highest dome[5/8"]and the wrist pin is offset slightly to give a more direct push downward on power stroke.
