4X4 vs 2 wheel drive

I would like to hear from some people who have used both 2 wheel drive and 4X4 tractors. I have a 300U and I'm looking to trade for something with more "pull". I have been told that some of the "compact utility" tractors in 4X4 have even the bigger 2 wheel drives beat hands down. I live in westren New York and this week we have had well over thirty inches of snow fall! I need something to move alot of snow and be able to do very well in the mud. Any comments would be great!
