I also live in WNY. I have a MF 274 4wd that will go through alot of mud and snow. I use it in the summer on wet hay ground because it doesn't sink in the mud and leave tracks like a big tractor would. In snow not only does the front tires pull they dig a path for the back tires where a 2 wheel drive's front tires just drag extra snow. The downside is the front tires seem to wear out quickly and are alot more expensive. It doesn't turn very sharp and is almost impossible to back up hay wogons with it. I think that the pros outway the cons though
