Valve /rocker clearance

I have a '46 H and need a little help the next few days as I put the ol' girl back together. What is the recommended gap for rocker arm to valves, and what would the procedure be for adjustments.I just put a rebuilt head on with all new valves and there is some gaps that are as much as .070". Also is it ok to use silione gasket maker on the oil pan or should I buy the gasket.
