anyone who has done a 12v conversion on a 400 care to chime in and advise me? i've decided to go through with it for this one. (all our other 6v tractors spin over fine on 6v, even a MM UTU). planning on the DR 10si route of course :) 1. which wiring procedure/schematic did you use? i've found a few, and each differs somewhat. (some use diodes, include idiot light[that is tempting], some just wire direct or recommend resistors if no idiot light is used...) 2. mounting bracket? does someone offer a pre-fabbed bracket? someone care to make one for me? (let's deal...i'm in central MN) 3. pulley size? i have an alt out of an 81 chev k10 pickup, i assume that's a 10si...i think it's a bit big of a pulley though. 4. the starter...i read 2 differing thoughts on it on the web...a) it needs to be rewired to work neg ground. b) it will work as is. which is correct? had it tested and looked over about a year ago...the rebuilder man said it's the best he's seen in years. 5...any other concerns i should be looking at? fortunately all the basics seem to agree, it's the details that are so varied! please see my other post about this tractor :) thanks Karl floor_it@yahoo.com kffischer@csbsju.edu
