I got to thinkin' (for me that can be dangerous) I was thinkin', perhaps if the butterfly in the carb was "way too open" with the governor set to spec, this might cause the high rpm. The reason being, my carb is not the original A carb , but came off some other machine, maybe a baler I'm told. Anyway, I "shortened" the governor by way of the clevis so that instead of the pin slipping in nicely with the throttle lever at full, the hole does not match up. It is a little hard to explain, but now when I start her up it idles very nicely and I can now control the speed, and go for a nice comfortable ride in all gears. Now to get the alt to charge the battery, and I have a awesome machine! Thanks to you guys for your input, and a hearty Merry Christmas to all! scotty......weather still weird, 35degrees today and still only 3 inches of snow! We are talking possibility of green Christmas in Northern Ontario.
