First of all, just because it runs doesn't mean everything is ok. I know people have bought running MD's and spent tons of money on fixing the engine. Parts are VERY VERY hard to find for the old start on gas diesels. You can get around $1000 tied up in the pump and injectors alone! Engine bearings are hard to locate, overhaul kits are expensive, and even if it runs it probably has a cracked head. No TA or LPTO is available for an MD, the best you could do is an M&W hand clutch that lets you stop the tractor but keeps the PTO running, but I don't think you can shift gears with that one. I think you will find fuel consumption about the same or a little more than your H. Unless you have big $$$ to spend I wouldn't buy the MD. Keep the H. Steven
