Jim, The 300 was basically a Super H with the newer sheetmetal and some mechanical changes to the transmission/PTO. The engines should interchange without a problem. The main difference between the H and 300 engines is the bore of the H is 3-3/8" and the 300 is 3-9/16". The H is 152 CID and the 300 is 169 CID. There is a major difference in HP between the H and 300, and even a larger difference if the 300 is a "Utility" model. The H is about 25 HP on the drawbar, the 300 is about 33 and the 300 Utility is almost 40 (all gasoline). I would find out for sure which 300 engine before proceeding, but I believe the layout will be the same regardless. I would make sure I got everything with the engine such as the carb, manifold, starter and flywheel, clutch and pressure plate and maybe even the clutch housing just to be sure everything fits. You can mix and match parts later and sell off anything that you don't want to keep. The 300 utility has an underslung exhaust, so that should help you identify that engine (if the manifold is attached). Hope this is helpful, Phil
