When i flew Intruders out of NAS Whidbey Island - way back when. We always counted on clear wheather over Sequim. The all winter overcast on Pudget sound made it tough to do 4 plane VFR formation flight training. Frequently we would proceed underneath to Sequim and then corkscrew climb our way up to good weather on top and got on with it. All of which was legal flying if you remained clear of clouds at all times. Major concern was the melting of a four plane corkscrewing up with a four palne corkscrewing down - could have spoilt a lotta airplanes. My nickel Dick Davis
