Nawlens: I fabricated one of these, it put the alternator very close to same position as the generator had been. I did not have to disturb the shroud. Before describing this for you I'd like to go to my shop, look it over close, take a few measurments, etc. It's been 3 years, thus some details have sliped my recall. I can tell you the first step I take in installing an alternator on one of these offset Farmalls, is find a dual pulley from a 1980s V8 GM car or pickup engine. This allows you to set alternator back just a bit giving more room by using the outer pulley, for the belt.
