Where does the 18ga wire with diode from the alternator go? I understand the load side of the inition switch, but I have 2 different key switches (2 tractors, both IH 140's, 12V neg Grnd). One has a 2 position key switch that sends votage to the coil when on, and a push button switch that turns the starter over with or without the key switch. The other has a 3 position key switch that sends voltage to the coil when in position 2, and voltage to the magnetic relay (which engages the starter)when in position 3 (spring loaded, temporary on). I'm guessing the 18 ga wire with diode goes to the coil side of the key switch in each case. Am I right? Any help appreciated.
